Diego Velazquez's Las Meninas (1656) is one of the most important and thought provoking art pieces in history. Its complexity and ambiguity has perplexed art historians and philosophers alike for centuries. Within this exhibit, we seek to provide the viewer with a more immersive view of the painting that John Searle deemed "paradoxical". We hope this reconstruction will aid the viewer in answering some of art history's most controversial questions such as: What is the point of view? What is the significance of the mirror? And what does the painting mean?
